Obituary for Richard Wayne "Clyde" Osborne

Richard Wayne “Clyde” Osborne, 54 years of age of Oakwood, VA, went to Heaven, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Born March 13, 1964 in Richlands, VA, he was the son of the late Thurman Perry Osborne and Lydia Bell Horn Osborne.

“Clyde” was the founder and president of Lonesome Pine Trail Riders Four-Wheeling Club, an avid outdoorsman, a member of Wilderness Tabernacle church. He was a caregiver to his mother-in-law Bevelene Clifton, a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Samantha Raylene Osborne, sister Drema Darlene Osborne, brothers Bill, Clifford and Johnny Osborne and father-in-law Thomas Clifton.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-five years Debbie Kay Clifton Osborne of Oakwood, VA; daughter Beverly Lynn Kay Fletcher and husband Sam of Jewell Ridge, VA; sisters Mary Jane Keene, Shirley Keene and husband Von, Patsy Moore and husband Clyde and Brenda Justice all of Raven, VA; brothers James R. Osborne and Ronnie Osborne and wife Sherry all of Raven, VA, Mike Osborne and wife Penny of Richlands, VA.

He is also survived by his grandson Johnathan Wayne Hudson, mother-in-law Bevelene Clifton of Oakwood, VA, several nieces and nephews including a niece that’s like a daughter: Veronica Vandyke and her children Logan and Layla Vandyke.

Funeral service for Richard Wayne “Clyde” Osborne will be held at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Monday, May 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Billy Harrison and Kenneth Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery, Keen Mountain, VA.

Active pallbearers will be Jack Davis, Ken Davis, James Davis, Jeff Davis, Ervin Dales, Harry “Poggy” Meadows, Terry Horn, Jeff Lamie, Johathan Hudson, Ricky Clifton, Samuel Fletcher and Logan Vandyke.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Lonesome Pine Trail Riders, the Men of Wilderness Tabernacle, Robin Whitt, Ralph Shortt, Gary Keen, Calvin Keen, Arthur Clifton and Faye Clifton.

The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Sunday, May 13, after 6:00 p.m. with evening services to be held at 7:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 5th Floor Nursing Staff of Clinch Valley Hospital, Staff of Helping Hands Hospice and Community Home Care Services, Oakwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Dr. Bidros and Dr. Chaudhry.
